TV ratings: NBC scores with 'America's Got Talent'

Competition is heating up on NBC's "America's Got Talent" -- and boosting ratings. Tuesday night's live episode, the contest's first round of performances at Radio City Music Hall, was the highest-rated and most watched show.
The broadcast, which featured a much-talked-about performance of Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" by Branden James, increased its total viewers 1% from last week to 10.18 million, according to preliminary numbers from Nielsen.
The rating for "Talent" in the key adult 18-49 demographic grew 12% to 2.8. A ratings point equals roughly 1.3 million viewers.
The two-hour "Talent" broadcast, NBC's only original for the night, helped NBC score the top ratings spot among networksABC, CBS and Fox. An average 7.92 million people tuned in to the network. It clocked in with a 2.2 rating in 18-49.
Fox came in second with a 1.4 key demo rating, helped by"So You Think You Can Dance" at 8 p.m., which hooked an average 4.1 million viewers. The show's 18-49 rating slipped 7% from its last original two weeks ago.
ABC aired a "20/20" broadcast on the royal baby, which got higher viewership but lowers ratings than NBC News' primetime special on Monday night.
The CW's reboot of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" hosted by Aisha Tyler fell from last week's strong debut with 2.26 million viewers and a 0.9 key demo rating.
